Here comes the most special & sacred weekend on the church's calendar...The weekend that commemorates and honors our Savior's sacrifice and triumph!

It also marks a unique opportunity to invite family, friends, co-workers, and neighbors to church to hear the gospel. There's a lot you can do to help:

Option 1: Invite Using Facebook
We've created Facebook event pages for both our Good Friday & Easter services. On those pages, you can join the event (if you haven't already) and that will then allow you to invite your friends to attend. You can also share the event page on your timeline or in a message for your friends to see. Here are links:
Option 2: Invite the Old Fashioned Way
The old fashioned ways are probably still the most effective. Use the invite cards we've been placing in your bulletins. Hand one to a friend and, if you can, tell them what you like about our church.

Option 3: Door Hangers
We still have Easter Invitation Door Hanger bags. They're easy to use and gets you some exercise along the way. Best of all, it's a great way to get information about our church out into our neighborhoods.

(Mandatory) Option 4: Be Nice!
When Friday's & Sunday's services roll around, be sure to be kind to any guests we might be blessed to host. Here are a few ideas & you might come up with more:
  • Park farther out to leave closer parking for guests & those who have a harder time walking.
  • Sit farther toward the front and insides of the rows to make it easier for guests to find seats.
  • Talk with people you don't know before you talk with friends.
Option 5: Pray!
Until then, pray for those involved with our services and for those who have been invited and might be weighing whether to come. Pray that the Holy Spirit will help the communication of the gospel to be clear & compelling this weekend!

Grace & peace through our Lord Jesus Christ,

Pastor Neil

Generosity matters here. We support our church, our staff, our ministries and even other people's ministries because we love to partner with what God is up to here and everywhere!

That's why our Faith Promise giving is one of the most exciting things we do. This weekend, we'll pledge and we'll celebrate. Then, all year long, we'll get the chance to see what God does through our faithful support of all these cool ministries

Our guest speakers this weekend are missionaries Sherman & Kay Critser. They served in Africa for many years and now serve Native Americans in Scottsbluff, NE and surrounding areas. We look forward to hearing from them this weekend.

Here's the schedule:
  • Friday @ 6:30 PM: We'll share casual food before hearing from Faith Promise partner Karvin Adams, then the Critser's!
  • Saturday @ 6:00 PM: We'll share a dinner before hearing video greetings from more of our missionaries, then the Critser's again!
  • Sunday @ 9:30 AM: Kay Critser will meet with our children while Sherman Critser will meet with our students.
  • Sunday @ 10:45 AM: We'll hear from the Critser's one last time and we'll make our pledges to this year's Faith Promise!

Come and let it be said of us that we do generosity joyfully because God has been so generous to us!

Pastor Neil

Partners in Missions—$1,200
Karvin Adams is the founder and president of Partners in Missions. He both organizes and conducts trips into Guatemala, Ecuador, Panama, and Peru. Karvin & Sandy live in Calhoun, LA.

The Table—$1,200
The Table is a brand new church plant in the St. Louis, MO area led by Jon & Amanda Simmonds. They are seeking to create small group communities to expand the kingdom of God through radical compassion.

La Trompeta—$1,000
La Trompeta, the official Spanish-language news and information service of the Church of God, publishes books, periodicals and training resources for extending the kingdom of God throughout Latin America.

Children of Promise—$1,800

Mercy Ministries—$1,000
This great organization got its start right here in West Monroe and there is still a Mercy Home here. They have helped thousands of troubled young women be restored to wholeness. Mercy’s goal is to help these girls find freedom from their issues and empower them to serve in their communities as productive citizens.

CCM—$400
Christian Community Ministries is another organization here in Monroe that provides important care to the poor and homeless in our community. They provide food, clothing, and a variety of other assistance and are able to do much more through the support of many churches than we could hope to do on our own.

TOTAL 2015 BUDGET—$20,700

Our Faith Promise Budget also includes $1,600 for Convention Expenses and $1,000 for Contingency Fund (this allows us to help our partners as needs arise).
