Take a look below and have a great week, Pastor Neil This Sunday, January 31, the Envision Youth will be providing Sloppy Joe Lunches (complete with chips, drink, and dessert) for donations as they raise funds for the 2016 International Youth Convention this summer! You can stay and eat or take it to-go. "Gift Card Baby Shower" for Meredith Vickery (Girl - Baylor James) & Julie Oldham (Boy - Peter Glen) this Sunday, January 31. Come-and-Go from 3:00 - 4:30 PM. Gift Card Suggestions Include: Target, Walmart/Sam's, Amazon.com, CVS/Walgreens, Baby Boutiques.  We observe our 2nd Annual Freedom Sunday on February 14th as we turn our attention to the issue of human trafficking in partnership with the greater Church of God. This year, we also get to hear from a local agency engaged in this fight: Project 41!  We will be collecting some items to support their ministry over the next couple of weeks. Sunrise Kids Announcement

View this email in your browser Dear Sunrise Kids Parents & Volunteers In the last Sunrise kids email, we mentioned some exciting news about our Sunrise Kids (Children's Church) ministry that we'd be sharing with you soon. Today is that day!  I'm pleased to officially announce that Donna Ward has agreed to take on the role of our Sunrise Kids Director! That means, most Sundays, she'll be coordinating and leading our children's church time along with the awesome volunteers who will continue serving on their regular rotation.  We tried something like this last Fall with Melissa Hattaway. But after trying it and praying about it, Melissa felt it was not the right fit for her. We continued to pray and the Board of C.E. leadership & I decided we should ask Donna. To be honest, we felt like it was a long shot that Donna would want to do it. We just really, really believed it would be so awesome if she did!  And to our amazement, God had already been working in advance. He had already planted that desire in Donna's heart and she was simply waiting for confirmation that it really was something God wanted and not just her. That confirmation came when we asked and we just couldn't be more thrilled with this answer to prayer!  We truly believe this is going to be great for our kids, great for our volunteers, and great for our church. Please continue to pray for our children's ministry and pray that God will send us more young families who need a safe, loving place where their kids can learn about Jesus! But for now, here is some information about what our kids are learning about this month! This Month's Series Our kids hear a lot about smarts: homework, books, tests, studying. But they don't learn nearly as much about wisdom…true Godly wisdom. This five-week series studies the book of Proverbs, teaching kids how – and why – we make wise choices. Lessons cover Becoming Wise, Family Relationships, Friendships, Speech, and Monetary Stewardship.  Series Family Devotions There are free Bible-reading devotional plans based on the curriculum we've begun using. Now you can do family devotions at home that correspond with what your child is learning at church!  Simply visit bible.com or the Bible app (both powered by YouVersion) and browse through the Family Plans for this month's plan: "Proverbs Power-Up"!
