Here's what they're learning about this month along with a coordinated Bible plan you can work through with them at home! This Month's Series God first created mankind to be His companions, and today we show God our friendship and love through worship. This worship series teaches kids How we worship, Why we worship, Who worships, and What exactly worship is. Teaching about worship as a core element of the Christian walk is central to leading up fully devoted followers of Christ. Series Family Devotions There are free Bible-reading devotional plans based on the curriculum we've begun using. Now you can do family devotions at home that correspond with what your child is learning at church!  Simply visit bible.com or the Bible app (both powered by YouVersion) and browse through the Family Plans for this month's plan: "Worship"! Our Unique Summer Opportunity

View this email in your browser A Summer Internship Dear Cypress Street, We have been given a unique opportunity this summer: The opportunity to pour into the life of a young man called to ministry AND to have him pour into us. Edward Stewart of Tennessee and student at MACU feels called to be a pastor and has sought an internship for the summer.  By partnering with our sister-church, North Crossings, we are bringing him to the Monroe-West Monroe area where he will work with Bro. Ray Owens and myself. This is new territory (two churches sharing a summer intern) and it's a testament to our churches' unity that we've even undertaken it! Edward will spend time at both churches and I'm not yet sure of your first opportunity to meet him but meet him you will, as he will doubtless preach a time or two in addition to gaining other experience. In the meantime, please partner with me in praying for him and our summer together. May it be good for the Kingdom and a blessing all the way around! View this email in your browser Scripture & Missions Dear Cypress Street, We are taking 4 Sundays to look at 8 things we should increasingly value as a church. Because: When we value what matters most, we'll do what matters most! This past Sunday we looked at the values of Scripture & Missions (and you can catch up on CypressStreet.org or on our podcast, which I've found to be the best way to listen to sermons. CLICK HERE to find it on iTunes).  Scripture--holy writings--written across millennia and by multiple authors but consistently centered around the Gospel. They are more than words, they are power. And as such, we cannot afford to tuck them away in a dusty book on our shelves nor to keep them all to ourselves. Let's be known as a place where we value Scripture as more-than-words and we also actively partner in the Mission to carry its light into the darkest places. God has been on a mission from the start, as though He were painting a grand masterpiece across our generations.
