Our Children on Christmas Eve

Dear Parents, I wanted to write you and let you know a little of what to expect regarding our kids and the Christmas Eve service.

First, we plan to involve our children in the program! They'll be singing the song "Amen" with me. We will practice in the Sanctuary at the end of Sunday School this Sunday, the 18th. If you can't make it to Sunday School but would like your child to participate, please plan to arrive for this Sunday's practice around 10:15am. (If you'll be gone this week, your child will still be welcome to join the others and they'll likely catch on fast since there's only one word to remember! lol)

Second, there will be no Sunrise Kids Children's Church that day. However, the service should be pretty action packed with carols and video and their song and candles at the end. We will also hand out a little activity booklet with crayons that might help them through the mini-sermon :)

I think it's going to be a really special service for all of our families and as good a week as there ever was to have our children in the service with us!

See you soon,
Pastor Neil

P.S. The nursery will still be available!

Dear Cypress Street,
We have a special opportunity this year. Research has shown that un-churched people are more likely at attend a Christmas Eve service than any other service of the year! That means we each have an opportunity to invite a friend of family member.

I know the Christmas season means complex scheduling for most of us as we try to fit in travel and family, work, or friend gatherings. Not all of us will be able to attend this service. But allow me to encourage you to make the most of this opportunity, if at all possible!

We look forward to our children singing, a live Mary-Joseph-and-Jesus, carols, candles and more. We want it to be both short and extraordinarily sweet. I pray it will serve frame our entire Christmas holiday in the context of worshipping the newborn King.

One last thing: We will be handing out a Christmas Morning Family Devotion guide at our Christmas Eve service. We will worship in our homes on Sunday morning rather than gathering at the church again.

Grace & peace through our Lord Jesus Christ,

Pastor Neil

Sunrise Kids December

Dear Sunrise Kids Parents & Volunteers

Thank you for entrusting your kids to our children's ministry! Here's what they're learning about this month along with a coordinated Bible plan you can work through with them at home!

This Month's Series

When someone gives you a present, you thank them, open it up, and enjoy it!

God offers the gift of Jesus to us. This series will encourage our children to unwrap God's generous gift to them, and be a giver, just like Him! The story of Christmas illuminates God as "The Giver" because He gave the world the best present of all, His Son Jesus. We want to illuminate God's nature of generosity! Some of the things He's given us: a home in heaven, His presence, peace, and family.

Series Family Devotions

There are free Bible-reading devotional plans based on the curriculum we've begun using. Now you can do family devotions at home that correspond with what your child is learning at church!

Simply visit bible.com or the Bible app (both powered by YouVersion) and browse through the Family Plans for this month's plan: "God's Gift"
