February 14th was a special day in the life of our church. There was just a powerful sense among us of God at work. I've recently mentioned how I've often focussed my prayers for our church on asking God to do something amazing at Cypress Street: new families and guests coming to hear the gospel, more salvation & baptisms, etc. It's not that I don't still pray that prayer or that you shouldn't. But after our Faith Promise and Freedom Sunday, I'm so excited about what all God is doing through our church. Through you! On February 14th... - We learned that human trafficking is a real issue in our immediate community.
- We were inspired by Lindsey Nadler, co-founder of a local organization, Project 41. (If you missed Lindsey's message, listen at Cypress Street.org/Listen)
- We collected a ton of goods needed at Project 41.
- We gave $1,065 toward Freedom Sunday. That means over $500 each is going toward the international Chog Trafficklight initiative and local Project 41.
In recent days, some of our ladies have taken the initiative of their own accord to provide a meal for one of Project 41's "Esther's Academy" meetings with rescued ladies. See what I mean? I love what God is doing through us! Maybe going into the world and changing it in the name of Jesus is even better than having God do something neat at just 1401 Cypress Street! Keep up the good work, Church! Did you see we were mentioned in a national CHOG News Article? Grace & peace through our Lord Jesus Christ, Pastor Neil | |
