How will children's ministry work with the new Circles schedule? Our apologies if you get this twice, this went out last week but mistakenly not to most of our parents and volunteers.
By now, you've likely heard about the new small group ministry we are launching on September 3rd. A traditional Sunday School class will meet at 9am. Our Worship Service will begin at 10am. And then our Circles will meet after that from 11:15-12:00.
What does all this mean for Children's Ministry? Much more than a new look! Our Children's Ministry Team (Donna Ward, Sherri North, Ami Coates, Melissa Hattaway, and Vicki Coody) have been hard at work. Let's take one thing at a time:
Lil' Dewdrops Nursery We plan to have our nursery staffed and open from 9:30-12:00.
Sunrise Kids Children's Church We will follow the same routine, it'll just fall at an earlier time. With the Worship Service beginning at 10:00am, you can expect the invitation to Sunrise Kids at about 10:15 or 10:20. Their routine and curriculum has been working really well and is remaining the same.
Seedlings Circle Our kids need a circle, too, and our teachers have been hard at work creating a new curriculum that will build on what they have just been learning about in Sunrise Kids. To minimize chaos and distractions (neither of which are good for children's ministry... HA!), our teachers will come a few minutes before the Worship Service concludes and escort children to their classroom upstairs.
All this being said, there is always a learning curve with new schedules. But we have an exceptionally gifted, qualified, and passionate team who are dedicated to making sure our ministry to children is awesome!
