Dear Cypress Street, On Sunday we took a break from our Sinners & Saints series to announce Cypress Street Circles. You can listen to Sunday's message here or via our podcast. When it comes to spiritual growth, circles are simply better than rows. The call to live the Jesus life was never designed to be done primarily alone nor in crowds but in circles, small groups of people pursuing the Jesus way together in community. Our Sunday School format, while effective at providing such a setting for part of our church, has not been as effective as it once was. Especially with regard to getting new members plugged in as quickly as possible. Teachers and leaders were concerned about this issue before I even arrived over 3 years ago and your Leadership Team (comprised of myself, Mike Coody, Carolyn Hogue, and James Vickery) made it one of our top priorities in this our first year of existence. We are excited to try something new! Beginning on Sunday morning, September 3: A traditional Sunday School class will be held at 9:00 [the JOY class has been a great place to get in a circle for years!], our regular worship service will be held at 10:00 [instead of 10:45], and we will break into Circles from 11:15-12:00. Again, if you missed the announcement I encourage you to go take a listen using the links above. Please join us in prayer for this new opportunity, it already shows much promise and I'll share more about that soon. In the meantime, please bring any questions or concerns to myself or any member of our Leadership Team. Grace & peace through our Lord Jesus Christ, Pastor Neil | |
